Push Gaming are back with yet another visually-stunning video slot – and this time it’s Mystery Museum, a game which mimics some of the features we’ve seen in previous Push Gaming releases. Set in an older era of gaming, Mystery Museum offers a quaint, relaxing and laid-back “slotting experience”, but don’t let the soothing music fool you; this game can pay, and it’s already churned out some pretty significant wins.

The Mystery Museum slot is built around a fairly traditional 5-reel, 3-row format, and there’s a total of 10 paylines in play; these paylines are “fixed”, meaning you, as player, cannot change the number active on each spin. Mystery Museum can be played from between £0.10-£100 per spin at the best casino websites in the UK.

Interestingly, there are two RTPs available with Mystery Museum. The first is the “default” setting – and it clocks in at 96.58%. However, if you opt to play the slightly higher variance version of the game (called the PowerGamble feature) the RTP increases slightly to 97.04%, meaning Mystery Museum could be a good wagering slot – despite its high volatility.

Mystery Museum Slot Theme, Design, and Layout

If you’re familiar with Push Gaming’s slots, you may notice that Mystery Museum looks – and plays – quite a bit like Joker Troupe. The game does appear to carry many of the same characteristics – but we feel as though the graphics, animations and sounds are a bit better, and the math model is also more volatile. The bonuses are also significantly different.

Mystery Museum uses Push Gaming’s standard game layout, so you’ll find yourself able to access most of the in-game options (including the likes of auto play and quick spin) from the dotted menu, found in the bottom left-hand-corner of the screen. The bet selection button is found alongside the main “Spin” button.

When it comes to paying symbols you’ll be pleased to see there aren’t any of the traditional playing card values or symbols. Instead, you’ll see a variety of theme-specific imagery including Shields, Eyes, Coins, Runes, Jugs, Helms and Egyptian Masks. The King Tut Mask is the game’s highest-paying symbol, awarding a whopping payout of 500X for lining up a 5-of-a-kind combo.

Special Symbols, Bonus Features, and Gameplay

Alongside the paying symbols you’ll also find a Wild Samurai symbol in Mystery Museum. This acts as Mystery Museum’s wild, and it substitutes for all other symbols in the game – and is also the scatter – making it easier to form wins and trigger the main bonus round.

However, the payout for lining up a 5-of-a-kind combo of the Wild Samurai is still 500X, so it doesn’t offer its own pays, instead mimicking that of the top-paying symbol.

Mystery Museum Slot Bonus Features

Mystery Museum offers three main features – and the one you’ll be most aware of is the Mystery Stacks feature – this can land on any spin in the base-game and bonus. When three or more of the special mystery symbols appear during the base-game they will nudge to cover the entire reels they land on. Those reels will then all transform into the same mystery symbol – kind of like what we’ve seen in the classic “book of” games like Novomatic’s Book of Ra Deluxe and Play’n GO’s Book of Dead.

If you manage to land 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view you’ll trigger the Free Spins bonus. You will then be awarded 8, 10 or 12 free-spins, depending on how many scatter symbols you landed.

During the free-spins, any mystery symbols that land in view nudge up to fill the entire reel they land on – and they then lock in place for the duration of the free-spins bonus. This means, technically, it’s possible for the entire screen to display the same symbol – for multiple spins!

Finally, we need to talk about the PowerGamble feature. This can be activated (by the player) after a win of at least 5X the stake, and when it does you’ll be taken to a new screen where you’ll see 4 playing cards face down. You simply pick one of them, and if it reveals a tick, you double your win; if you reveal an “X” you lose your win.

Where things get really interesting is that you can then “trade” your winnings from the PowerGamble (you need to gamble at least once for this to become available), so it’s a rather novel way of triggering the Free Spins feature – and is great for those who don’t want to wait around for the scatter symbols to land on their own.

Conclusion

As with virtually all of Push Gaming’s slots, Mystery Museum looks the part – and it plays well too. It may not offer quite as much win-potential as some of their older releases – think Jammin’ Jars and The Shadow Order – but it’s still possible to win up to 17,500X your stake so there’s still some serious win-potential to be found!

We also really like how you can impact the RTP depending on how you play – and Mystery Museum slot seems well-suited for those looking for a “gambling” gamble!

Since Megaways are in vogue, we highly recommend Curse of the Werewolf Megaways slot, or the Time Travel Tigers slot from Yggdrasil Gaming.
